Give It A Try
Jesus loved to say to people, ‘come, follow me.’ That invitation goes out today to every one, including you.
The ‘Give It A Try’ group is specifically for people who are considering becoming followers of Jesus, but aren’t quite sure yet. In the group, you’ll get the chance to ‘give it a try’, and see how it goes.

What’s involved?
1.We meet in a home together, once a fortnight
We meet in homes because Jesus is interested in our real lives, and loves to treat us as friends. We meet as equals, we meet as mates.
2.We read a story about Jesus and talk it through together
To follow him, we need to get to know what he’s like, what he does, what he thinks, what he values. We learn this together by reading a story about him from one of the biographies of his life. No previous knowledge is needed. It’s not a test, it’s a chance to get to know him together.
3.We try out the words and actions of Jesus in our own lives
When we see something in a story, we’ll set a little ‘challenge’, to each try it out at some point before the next meetup. Jesus talks about prayer? We’ll give prayer a go. Jesus talks about peacemaking? We’ll give it a try. Jesus talks about listening to God? You get the picture!
